This WSLCB-approved training covers responsible alcohol service in Washington, including state laws, intoxication prevention, ID checks, and liability awareness.
All employees serving or selling alcohol in on-premises establishments must obtain a MAST permit within 60 days of hire.
Class 12 Mixologist Permit (21+): Allows mixing drinks, managing establishments, conducting tastings, and all Class 13 duties.
Class 13 Server Permit (18–20): Allows taking orders, carrying alcohol, and pouring at the table.
Introduction
The final exam includes 40 questions, with 2 attempts provided. A passing score of 80% is required. Exams are available in English, Korean, and Spanish.
Successful students receive a permit valid for 60 months (5 years). Permits are mailed within 30 days, typically sooner, and are also reported to the WSLCB.
